They are surprising smart, knowing how pick up blocks and teleport milliseconds before arrows hit them. Unless you're in the perfect location with perfect tactics, one or two Endermen could easily take you down. Endermen will warp around you smacking you once or twice before teleporting at the first sign of pain. However, Endermen will teleport away from a flying arrow. Bows are cheap to make, and arrows can be obtained from skeletons. Instantly Ghasts and Creepers are no problem. Then you argue how mobs like Creepers and Ghasts can't be defeated easily? Bow.
Most of the other mobs can easily be taken out with a few swipes of the sword. Unlike most mobs, Endermen require strategizing before defeating them. No the nether! My best friend died in creative when going into the nether o_O and it was creative! Two against one and he wins!? Impossible right? Haha. However we were ALSO killed! SO YEAH they are powerful. And they look creepy! Purple eyes and look like dead squids of what the rest of the body is! Me and my little brother saw an enderman, than I was just staring at the ground really scared ( because the enderman appearance is terribly creepy ) so when he hits it I hit it and we beat it. THE SCARIEST! Endermen, so you go in you know I'm in this castle and well I see enderman! I look at the ground because I know they will try to fight me at the first glance.
